ABOUT

Larissa Goodwin-Wylie is an artist and studio potter based in Matamata, Aotearoa New Zealand, where she lives and works with her husband James and their two children.

Through Goodwin Ceramics she creates functional and ornamental stoneware with a focus on form and texture. Each piece is made using wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques and is designed for everyday use.

Working primarily with stoneware clay fired in an electric kiln and finished with custom glazes developed in the studio, Larissa embraces the natural qualities of the material, allowing subtle variations in clay and glaze to remain visible. The result is a contemporary interpretation of classical ceramic forms.

Larissa holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts from AUT and completed postgraduate study at Elam School of Fine Arts.
